On October 4th, 1995, Hurricane Opal made landfall with fierce winds in Pensacola, Florida and traveled North through central Alabama.  Half a million people in Alabama were without power and Birmingham sat in the heart of Opal's path of destruction.  The metro area suffered widespread tree damage and devastation.

 

Wesley Jones had grown up on a farm and had much experience with cutting trees and hard work.  He wanted to be of help and prayed for direction.  Without even a truck at the time, Wesley bought a chainsaw, loaded it into the back of his old Chevy Cavalier and headed out to be of service.  Out of this necessity, RJ Tree Service began...
